Requirements Engineering With Measurable Business Outcomes
A selection of programs where I led requirements, process redesign, and delivery coordination across loan origination, onboarding, income assessment, and field operations - each with outcomes tracked after go-live, not just projected before it.
Loan Management System Unification
The Problem
The lending operation ran on three disconnected systems - one for application intake, one for credit decisioning, and one for disbursement and post-sanction activity. Handoffs between the three created reconciliation issues, inconsistent data, and an average processing cycle of 7–12 days, with roughly 70% of cases needing manual intervention at some stage.
What I Did
- I ran requirement discovery across six departments - operations, credit, IT, sales, finance, and compliance
- I mapped the current-state process and identified over twenty operational bottlenecks
- I designed a unified target workflow built around a single source of truth
- I authored a comprehensive BRD/FRD along with 150+ user stories and acceptance criteria
- I built SQL scripts to validate data integrity during migration
- I coordinated UAT across operations, credit, and IT with 300+ test scenarios
- I managed integration requirements with Perfios, CIBIL, and the credit decisioning engine

Centralized Digital Onboarding
The Problem
Customer acquisition depended on manual document collection across 120+ branches, with KYC verification scattered across multiple disconnected touchpoints and no standardized validation logic. Average onboarding TAT sat at 8–12 days, well behind competitors offering 2–3 day turnarounds.
What I Did
- I gathered requirements from sales, operations, credit, and compliance
- I designed a centralized onboarding workflow with clearly defined decision points
- I created wireframes for the customer-facing portal and mobile experience
- I documented rules distinguishing auto-approval cases from manual review triggers
- I coordinated integrations with DigiLocker, e-NACH, and Video-PD vendors
- I planned a phased rollout, beginning with closed user group testing
- I delivered branch-level training for the hybrid digital-physical onboarding model

Automated Income Assessment (Perfios Integration)
The Problem
Income assessment for salaried and self-employed applicants was entirely manual - credit teams spent two to three hours per case reviewing bank statements, with a meaningful rework rate due to calculation inconsistencies. Self-employed cases requiring a twelve-month analysis took five to seven days, capping daily processing capacity well below what the business needed.
What I Did
- I mapped the current manual assessment process in detail
- I documented over 40 business rules covering salary credits, EMI obligations, bounced payments, and irregular income patterns
- I coordinated with Perfios on API integration and field-level data mapping
- I built test scenarios across 25 distinct income patterns
- I led UAT using real bank statement data spanning salaried, self-employed, and irregular-income cases
- I defined exception workflows for cases requiring manual review

Mobile NACH & Geo-Tagged Field Verification
The Problem
Field verification and NACH mandate registration relied on paper forms and unverified visit records, creating both a fraud exposure - unconfirmed address visits - and a slow, three-to-five-day registration cycle that limited how far the business could scale remote acquisition.
What I Did
- I defined requirements for a mobile NACH registration module integrated with NPCI
- I designed a geo-tagged verification workflow with photo capture and timestamping
- I documented audit trail and anti-fraud controls to satisfy compliance requirements
- I authored 35+ user stories covering the field executive journey and exception handling
- I coordinated rollout training for 150+ field executives across regions
- I tracked adoption metrics post-launch and iterated based on field feedback
